Gardaí have arrested 11 people following searches conducted as part of an investigation into organised criminality and drug trafficking in Dublin.

The operation involved searches of 18 residential and two business premises, along with cars and prison cells in Mountjoy Prison.

Eight men and three women, ranging in ages from 20s to 50s, were arrested.

The operation, which was led by gardaí in Store Street, began early this morning.

A quantity of ammunition, drugs, cash, drug distribution paraphernalia, documents, mobile phones, computers and documents associated with financial transactions were seized.

Over 100 gardaí were involved.
