Gardaí are investigating an incident at a house in Tallaght in Dublin which led to the hospitalisation of six people.

The incident happened following a row at a party in the house on Deer Park Avenue.

Friends and neighbours gathered for a barbecue at the house to celebrate an 18th birthday.

The party continued into the early hours of the morning, until a dispute erupted between a group of three youths and three older men attending the event.

Neighbours reported seeing three men running from the house shortly after 4am.

Three teenagers, a man in his 20s and a man in his 40s who were injured during the incident were taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital with suspected stab wounds.

A sixth man, in his 30s, was taken to St James’s Hospital with head injuries.

The scene was been preserved and technical examinations were carried out by garda forensic experts throughout the morning. No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
