A 50-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was shot dead in an apartment in Dublin last June.

Peter Donnelly, from Larch Hill apartments in Santry, is accused of the murder of Edward Flanagan, a 49-year-old man who was shot in the Larch Hill apartment complex on 15 June.

The man has also been charged with possession of a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition.

Detective Garda Shay Woods from Santry gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.

Mr Donnelly was remanded in custody for a week.
