Gardaí have described the killing of a 23-year-old man in Tallaght in Dublin last night as a 'terrible crime' and have appealed to the public for information relating to the incident.
The victim, who is from the locality, is said to have become involved in what gardaí have described as ‘altercation’ outside shop between two groups of young people from the area.
It spread across the Cushlawn estate in Tallaght, Dublin 24, ending at Cushlawn Dale apartments shortly after midnight
The victim was stabbed a number of times in the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at Tallaght Hospital.
Gardaí have now launched a murder investigation and are asking the community for help in catching his killer.

Supt Lorraine Wheatley said they had already received a very strong response from the public.
Forensic teams have been combing the scene for evidence and detectives have begun making house-to-house inquiries.
Locals have described the estate as ‘quiet’ and what happened as ‘madness’.
