A man has been charged with the attempted abduction of a teenage girl in Co Offaly last week.
The suspect, who is in his 40s, appeared before a special appearance of Athlone District Court in Co Westmeath this evening.
The 13-year-old victim suffered minor injuries when she was assaulted near the village of Ferbane on 19 July.
She ran to a neighbour's house and raised the alarm.
The man was arrested in Tramore, Co Waterford, early yesterday morning.
