Around 9,000 people have signed books of condolence at the constituency office in Castleknock of the former Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, who died yesterday aged 52.

The book was opened for members of the public to express sympathy at the death of Mr Lenihan who died in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Funeral arrangements for Mr Lenihan were announced last night.

Mr Lenihan's remains will repose from 10am on Monday at Jennings Funeral Home in Blanchardstown.

Removal will be on Monday evening to St Mochta's Church in Porterstown, arriving at 6pm.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday after 11am mass to St David's Church graveyard in Kilsallaghan.
