A spokesperson for Dana Rosemary Scallon has said the idea of seeking a nomination to run for the Presidency is 'not on the radar'.
He said that Dana is travelling to the United States tomorrow where she will spend the next month working.
However, the former MEP has received about 10,000 phone calls and letters since the beginning of the year urging her to run, he said.
The field of candidates for the Presidency is filling out - Mary Davis announced her bid yesterday, while Independent Senator David Norris is lobbying councils for backing.
Labour and Fine Gael are expected to choose candidates over the summer. Fianna Fáil has yet to decide whether to nominate a candidate.
Businessman Seán Gallagher is also seeking a nomination.
