A 32-year-old man has appeared in court in Belfast charged in connection with a scrambler crash in which a boy lost his life.

Daniel Mooney, 12, died after the bike on which he was a pillion passenger crashed at Mountcoole Park in north Belfast on Sunday.

He was not wearing a helmet.

As well as causing death by dangerous driving, he is accused of driving a scrambler while disqualified, without insurance and while unfit through drink or drugs.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Friday.
