A collection of letters written by Michael Collins to his sister while he was in prison has sold at auction for €202,000.
The collection had been expected to sell for between €70,000 and €90,000.
The majority of the letters were purchased by a private Irish collector and will remain in the country.
The letters are among a number of historical items that were up for auction in Dublin this evening.
A hand gun owned by Countess Markievicz, which had been expected to be auctioned for between €550-€750, has been sold for €7,500.
A signed bullet target which it was thought would fetch up to €600, made €1,600.
Other items up for auction included a rare copy of the Proclamation and some original Irish bonds.
