Two people have died in separate crashes in Cork and Kilkenny.
A 41-year-old man died in a collision on the N20 near the village of Rathduff in Cork.
The crash involving an articulated truck and a car happened at around 9.30am.
The man was taken to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact gardaí at Blarney on 021-4516290.
Separately, a 46-year-old woman was killed in a car crash in Co Kilkenny just after midnight.
The single-vehicle crash happened at Kildalton in Piltown.
It is believed that the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was fatally injured after her car crashed into a ditch.
She was pronounced dead at Waterford Regional Hospital.
