Former minister for defence Willie O'Dea has confirmed that he will stand for Fianna Fál at the next General Election.
The Limerick East TD was forced to resign from the Cabinet last February after he denied in a High Court statement making certain comments about Sinn Féin local election candidate Maurice Quinlivan.
It later transpired that Mr O'Dea had in fact made the comments. Mr O'Dea said he had forgotten making them and apologised.
On RTÉ television's Late Late Show last night, Mr O'Dea confirmed his plans to stand for re-election.
