A girl who was just one month short of her second birthday has been killed and a woman pedestrian has been injured in a road incident in Co Down.
The little girl was walking on the Blackstaff Road in Clough yesterday evening when she was struck by a 4x4 type vehicle.
A woman who was with the child suffered a suspected broken arm and was taken to hospital after the accident, which occurred at around 5.15pm.
The driver of the vehicle was treated for shock.
Police are appealing for information from the public about the incident.
