Two men have been killed in a collision near Virginia, Co Cavan.
The crash involving a car and a van occurred on the N3 near Lisduff and happened at around 10.30pm last night.
The men who died had been travelling in the van. The driver was in his late 20s and the passenger, who was in his late 30s, were apparently heading south towards Kells.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital and has since been moved to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
His condition is described as serious but not life threatening.
The N2 Dublin to Derry road has reopened following a technical examination.
