Three men have died in separate road accidents in counties Mayo, Leitrim and Antrim.

A 67-year-old man died in a two-car collision in Charlestown, Co Mayo, last night. The crash happened at 10.45pm.

Gardaí say two men travelling in the second car left the scene. They have appealed for witnesses to the incident.

In Co Leitrim, a pedestrian died in an accident on Hilly Road, Drumshanbo, at around 11pm last night.

It is understood the man was in his late 30s. Gardaí believe he may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.

Traffic diversions, which were in place earlier, have since been lifted.

Elsewhere in Co Antrim, a 19-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident on the Shellinghill Road, Cullybackey, at around 5.15pm yesterday evening.

The man was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
