Two people have died in separate road accidents over the past 24 hours.
A man in his 20s died in a road crash near Swinford in Co Mayo.
The single-car crash happened at about 1am this morning on the Swinford to Foxford road.
The road has been closed off at the scene and diversions are in place.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman died in Naas, Co Kildare, after her car hit a fence.
The single-vehicle collision happened at Donadea, Naas, Co Kildare, at 6.30pm yesterday evening. The victim's body was removed to Naas General Hospital.
The road is currently closed pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
