Businessman Owen O'Callaghan has failed in a bid to get the Mahon Tribunal to furnish him with draft findings relating to him.

Mr O'Callaghan, along with a number of individuals and companies, claimed that the Tribunal's refusal to provide them with the information was a breach of their right to fair procedures and would damage their reputations.

However, Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O'Neill rejected the challenge.

In his judgment, he said the Tribunal must now make findings of fact based on the evidence it has heard.

He said seeking disclosure of potential criticisms at this stage was inappropriate and futile and he said if the demand was to be granted it would, in all likelihood, result in a repetitious and unnecessary prolonging of the inquiry.
