A 31-year-old man has appeared before Castlecomer District Court charged in connection with the death of a woman in Co Carlow.

The body of Lisa Doyle, 24, from Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, was found at a house in the village of Leighlinbridge yesterday morning.

The man was arrested in Carlow Town yesterday.

He appeared before Judge William Hamill and was remanded to appear at Cloverhill court on 28 September.

His solicitor requested that he be psychiatrically assessed.
