Three people have died, including two teenagers, following separate road accidents in counties Westmeath, Kerry and Antrim.

In Westmeath a 15-year-old boy died in hospital this evening after being hit be a car while out cycling.

The incident happened near Raharney, close to Mullingar, shortly before 5pm yesterday.

He was taken to the Regional Hospital in Mullingar but died earlier this evening.

In Antrim, a 68-year-old man died in hospital a following a road accident earlier today.

The man was driving a motorcycle on the Whitepark Road when the incident happened, near the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Ballintoy, at around midday.

At this stage police do not believe that any other vehicle was involved.

He was brought to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine where he later died.

The PSNI is appealing for witnesses.

In Kerry, an 18-year-old man died following a road accident on Friday evening.

The single vehicle crash happened on the Boherboy to Glenbeag road at around 9.30pm.

He was pronounced dead earlier this evening at Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.

The man, who has not yet been named, is believed to have been from Co Cork.
