A viable bomb was discovered on a pavement in Co Armagh last night.

The small device was found in the Windmill Hill area at around 11.15pm.

Police described it as 'crude but viable'.

Army Technical Officers were called to the scene to make the device safe.

Newry and Armagh Assembly member Dominic Bradley condemned those who had left the object, describing it as a blatant disregard for public safety.

He added that 'those responsible need to wake up and realise that their actions are without any support in the community. They are enemies of peace'.

Mr Bradley appealed for anyone with information to pass it on to the PSNI.
