Property developer Liam Carroll's legal team is back in the High Court tonight seeking legal protection for one of his companies, Vantive Holdings.
Senior Counsel Michael Cush told Mr Justice Eamon De Valera he is seeking permission to petition the court for the appointment of an examiner to Vantive Holdings.
The Supreme Court earlier this week rejected an appeal by Liam Carroll against a previous high court decision not to appoint an examiner to Vantive and other companies controlled by Mr Carroll.
Mr Cush said he could submit letters from Vantive's main lenders to address the issue of ongoing finance. He also said he had sworn affidavits from valuers Hook and McDonald and CBRE providing an updated assessment of the future prospects of the property market.
Under the Companies Act a company can, within three days of the appointment of a provisional liquidator, reapply to the courts for protection.
The court also heard Mr Carroll is currently in hospital.
