Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder investigation following the results of a post mortem on the body of a man found dead in Dublin.

The body of the 31-year-old Lithuanian man was discovered in a house in Pheasant Run in Dublin 15 on Thursday evening.

The post mortem carried out by Dr Michael Curtis at Connolly Hospital showed that the man died from head injuries.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are appealing for information on 01 6667000.

They have appealed for anyone, particularly neighbours, who may have seen or heard anything happening at the house last Thursday.

They are also trying to track down anyone who may have visited the house.
