A 32-year-old man who was injured in a shooting in Co Wicklow on Friday has died in hospital.

Charles Sinapayen, originally from Bordeaux in France, was found seriously injured inside an apartment in Richmond Hill in Bray at around 1am on Friday.

He had been shot in the head.

He died in Beaumont Hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the shooting and are being held at Bray Garda Station.

Mr Sinapayen's girlfriend, who was in the apartment with him at the time, was severely traumatised but otherwise unhurt.

Gardaí say the victim was not known to them and has no criminal convictions in Ireland.

The State Pathologist’s office has been notified.
