A 50-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a financial advisor in Northern Ireland.

He is the second person charged over the death of 60-year-old Geoff Kerr.

Mr Kerr was shot dead at his home in Templepatrick, Co Antrim, by intruders who came to his door on 27 April.

Martin Thomas Fleming appeared at Larne Magistrates' Court this morning and was remanded in custody to appear again later this month.

On Monday, another man was in court charged with murdering the father-of-four.

Darren Ivan Kernohan, 33, from Moss Drive, Antrim, spoke only to confirm he understood the charges during a five-minute hearing at Ballymena Magistrates' Court.

He was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Antrim Magistrates' Court on 26 May.
