Gardaí in Galway are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man whose body was found in an apartment on the outskirts of the city.
The man, who was Latvian, was found dead in a house on the Riverside Estate, off the Tuam Road.
The discovery was made shortly after lunchtime.
The man had been living in the house with his partner for the past five years.
The area was immediately sealed off and a technical examination of the scene is under way.
The Assistant State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is travelling to Galway to carry out a post mortem examination on the body later tonight.
Gardaí say they will await the results of the post mortem before deciding what direction their investigations will take.
