Drugs estimated to be worth over €700,000 have been seized in Dublin this afternoon.

Three people were arrested in a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit and Organised Crime Unit.

80kg of cannabis has been seized, and a cannabis cultivation house uncovered.

The drugs were found after officers stopped two cars on Griffith Avenue in Dublin.

The cars were seized, two men, aged 25 and 36, were arrested and taken to Ballymun Garda Station.

The cannabis cultivation house was found in a follow-up search in Beaupark Avenue in Dublin 13.

The scene is now being forensically examined and a woman was arrested there.

The 29-year-old is being detained in Coolock Garda station.

Some €1.2m worth of cannabis has been seized by the Garda National Drugs Unit in 24 hours.

One man was charged today in connection with last night's seizure of 100kg of cannabis.

A second man is still being questioned in Ballymun Garda station after his period of detention was extended today.
