A pilot is being treated for minor injuries after his aircraft crash-landed in a field in Co Offaly this afternoon.
Two sets of tandem parachute jumpers were also on board the Cessna 206 when it experienced a loss of power over the airfield at Clonbullogue.
It is understood the pilot ordered the four parachute jumpers out of the plane before he attempted to carry out a forced landing.
He brought the plane down in a ploughed field, close to the landing strip, where it flipped over.
The pilot was taken to hospital where he was treated for shock.
Officials from the Department of Transport’s Air Accident Unit have begun an investigation into the incident.
