A father and son were killed and several other people were injured in a road crash in Co Kildare last night.
The collision, involving three cars, a mini-bus and a pick-up truck, happened shortly after 8.30pm on the N9 between Kilcullen and Castledermot, close to Ballytore.
Michael Connors, 49, of Millview, Ballytore, Co Kildare and his 21-year-old son Gerry were occupants of one of the cars.
Several people were treated in Naas General Hospital but none were said to be seriously injured.
The N9 reopened at around 5.30am this morning.
Gardaí investigating the crash are asking anyone who was travelling in the area to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045- 527730.
