Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body on Dunsoghly Lane, The Ward, in Co Dublin.
A post-mortem examination carried out yesterday evening established that the victim had been stabbed to death.
He has been indentified as 29-year-old Peter Gunne who went missing in the Summerhill area almost two weeks ago.
Gardaí wish to appeal to anyone that may have seen Mr Gunne in the Summerhill area on 4 January, or since then, to contact them.
In particular, they are appealing to any taxi drivers that may have been in the area and who may have carried or seen Mr Gunne.
Mr Gunne is described as being approximately 6'2" of medium build, with short dark hair.
When last seen, he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a cream t-shirt and white runners.
