Police are appealing for witnesses after five people were injured in a three-vehicle road crash in Co Derry.

It happened just after midnight near the entrance to the City of Derry Airport at Eglinton.

The injured people were taken to hospital, one with a suspected neck fracture.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested.

The accident occurred at 12.05am on the Clooney Road, at its junction with Ballygudden road.

The three vehicles involved were a silver Mitsubishi Spacewagon, a blue Peugeot 406 and a red Volkswagen Polo.
