The death of a man in his 20s in Co Antrim is being treated as suspicious.

The body of Kenneth Nicholl, a father of two, was found in an alleyway on Herbert Avenue in Larne.

Mayor of Larne Bobby McKee said his death was an absolute tragedy.

While, the DUP Assembly member for the area also expressed his shock.

‘I would hope that if this is indeed a case of foul play that it is dealt with quickly,’ David Hilditch said.

Elsewhere, a man and a woman suffered head injuries after an attacker kicked in the door of a house at High Street in Comber in Co Down early this morning.

They were taken to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald for treatment.

A 21-year-old man suffered a serious head injury and cuts and bruising and a 32-year-old woman also had a head injury and was cut on the legs.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The PSNI has appealed for information.
