Tributes have been paid to Dr Bernadette Greevy, whose death was announced today.
The founder and artistic director of the Anna Livia International Opera Festival died on Friday, following a short illness. She was 68.
Her funeral took place at Raheny Church in Dublin today.
Born in the capital, Dr Greevy's professional career spanned more than 40 years, and she was recognised as one of the finest mezzo-sopranos of her time.
Minister for Arts, Sport & Tourism Martin Cullen, said her numerous recitals in all the major capitals of the world brought great credit to her and to Ireland.
Festival Manager Róisín McLoughlin said Dr Greevy's national and international contribution to the world of music was immense.
