Two people have been seriously injured in a road accident in Co Sligo.

The single-vehicle accident happened on the N4 at Ardloy, Riverstown, around 4am this morning.

The car's two male occupants were taken to Sligo General Hospital.

Separately, a 23-year-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Belfast.

The man, in his 20s, was injured on the Upper Newtownards Road close to Oakland Avenue shortly before 7am this morning.
