Armagh woman killed on holiday

A 78-year-old woman from Armagh has died after her wheelchair was hit by a car in Tenerife.

Molly Grimley, from Portadown Road, Armagh, Northern Ireland, was on holiday with two of her daughters when she was knocked down at a pedestrian crossing.

She had just left a restaurant in the busy resort of Playa de las Americas.

It is understood the driver of the car was later detained by police, breath-tested and may face charges.

Mrs Grimley was thrown from her wheelchair and died later in hospital.

A post-mortem examination was carried out and arrangements are being made to fly her body home.

She has four daughters and a son.
