Four men have been arrested following the seizure of 100kg of cannabis resin at Dublin Airport.
The drugs, with an estimated value of €1m, were intercepted during a handover at the back of the airport this morning.
Detectives believe the drugs were brought to Ireland by a UK-based criminal gang.
This morning's seizure is the result of an international investigation into the activities of Irish and British drug traffickers and involved both gardaí and customs.
Customs officers monitored the truck containing the drugs as it came through Dublin Port this morning. It then stopped on Forest Little Road at the back of Dublin Airport at around 6.30am and gardaí moved in while the drugs were being transferred to a van.
Four men - aged 50, 44, 42 and 32 - were arrested and are now being detained at Santry, Whitehall and Ballymun Garda stations.
The truck, the van and a car have also been seized.
