Three people died in separate road crashes in counties Mayo, Cork and Sligo yesterday.
A man in his 70s died in a crash in Ballina, Co Mayo.
He was the driver of a car which crashed on O'Rahilly Street at around 8pm yesterday evening.
A post mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
Earlier, a man died and a woman was seriously injured in a road crash in Co Cork.
The man, who was in his 20s, was the driver of a motorcycle which was in collision with a car at around 7pm yesterday evening.
The woman is being treated at Cork University Hospital.
A second woman who was driving the car was treated for shock.
The crash happened on the road between Dungourney and Midleton in east Cork.
Local diversions were in place as gardaí and the emergency services attended the scene.
And a woman in her early 80s died following a crash in Co Sligo yesterday morning.
The woman was the driver of a car, which was in collision with a truck on the Bundoran Road at around 11.40am.
She was taken to Sligo General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The truck driver was also taken to hospital but his injuries are not life threatening.
Elsewhere, the N4 Sligo to Dublin road between Mullingar and Kinnegad was closed yesterday evening due to a major accident involving a truck carrying farm equipment.
The east-bound lane of the dual carriageway for traffic heading towards Dublin was closed for a time.
