Two construction workers have been injured following an accident at Dromoland Castle Hotel in Co Clare.

The two men were working with a gas burner, sealing a window on the first floor at the back of the hotel, when there was an explosion and the two men were burned.

One of the men is seriously injured.

Emergency services, including two fire units from Ennis and Shannon along with ambulence personnel, attended the scene to put out the fire and help the two injured men.

Dromoland Castle has made no comment on the incident.
