Three young people have been killed in road accidents since yesterday afternoon.
Two men in their 20s and an 19-year-old woman died following collisions in counties Cork, Donegal and Louth.
The woman who was killed in a three-car collision on the Glanmire Bypass last night has been named as Sian Roberts from Kilbarry, Fermoy in Co Cork.
The teenager was driving a green-coloured Ford Ka. Gardaí at Glanmire have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen the car parked on the hard shoulder prior to the collision to contact them.
A section of the main Cork to Dublin road north of the Jack Lynch tunnel remained closed overnight pending an examination by garda crash investigators.
The road re-opened to traffic at just after 2pm this afternoon.
In Co Donegal, a 28-year-old man died after the car he was driving hit a pole in Bruckless.
Later, a man in his 20s died following a collision between the car he was driving and a petrol tanker on the outskirts of Drogheda.
The crash happened on the Dublin Road at around 7.30pm and gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
