Gardaí in Cork city are investigating an incident in which a shot was fired at a house in Gurranabraher just before 2am this morning.
There were four adults upstairs in the house on Kilmore Road, Knocknaheeney, when the shot was fired at the front door.
Nobody was injured.
There were believed to be three culprits responsible who were seen fleeing the scene.
Gardaí who were patrolling the area arrived straight away and arrested two of the culprits in a housing estate nearby.
The firearm was also recovered dumped in a driveway of a house near to where they were arrested.
The men arrested are 21 and 23 years of age.
Both are detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act at Gurranabraher and Mayfield Garda Stations.
