Police in Derry have renewed their appeal for information on the whereabouts of a 71-year-old man.

Mervyn Stewart boarded the 9.30am train from Derry to Belfast on 24 September to attend a function. Later that day he spoke by telephone to his daughter, but has not been in contact with his family since then.

Police believe it is possible that he may be in the Dublin area.

Mr Stewart is described as being 1.82m (6’) tall with a fair complexion and brown eyes. He has grey hair, which is balding on top. When last seen he was wearing navy cords, a white shirt, a green anorak and a cotton hat.

It is out of character for Mr Stewart not to keep in contact with his family, and the PSNI at Waterside in Derry are keen to hear from anyone who has seen him since Monday, or knows of his present whereabouts.

Anyone with information should contact 048 9065 0222.
