Gardaí in the Midlands are investigating a fire that broke out at a house near Edgeworthtown in Co Longford overnight.
It is understood the blaze began during the early hours of this morning at a house on the Athlone Road outside Edgeworthtown.
The house was uninhabitated at the time but it is understood there had been residents in the building in recent times.
