Iarnród Éireann has advised that this weekend is expected to be one of the busiest for rail travel so far this year.

The All-Ireland hurling quarter finals will take place in Croke Park this weekend and are expected to draw large crowds from Munster.

The company has urged intending passengers to pre-book their tickets if travelling to Dublin from Cork between today and Sunday.

Tickets on a number of morning trains for Sunday on the Cork-Dublin line and evening trains on the return journey have already been sold out.
