A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of 48-year-old Anthony Flood in Wexford town yesterday.
Philip Byrne, who is originally from Dublin, was charged with assault causing harm.
New Ross District Court heard that Mr Byrne had only been living in Wexford for eight weeks.
An application for bail was refused and he has been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.
Mr Flood's body was found yesterday morning at the apartment where the two men lived at Selskar Street in Wexford town.
