Gardaí have been given an extension to the time period for which they can detain a 27-year-old man who was arrested this morning in connection with the discovery of a body in Wexford town.
He can now be questioned until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
The body of a man, who is believed to be in his 40s, was found in an apartment on Selskar Street at around 1am this morning.
The body has been brought to Dublin where a post mortem will be carried out at the State Pathologist Facility in Marino.
The assistant State Pathologist, Dr Michael Curtis, has already carried out a preliminary examination at the scene.
Gardaí say it is too early to say whether foul play was involved in the man's death.
