Gardaí at Tramore are investigating a robbery at the post office in Stradbally, Co Waterford, which occurred at 9am this morning.

The robbery involved three men, two of whom entered the post office.  One of these was armed with what appeared to be a handgun and the other with what appeared to be a wrench.

There were only staff members present in the post office at the time and the culprits got away in a silver coloured car with an undisclosed amount of money.

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the robbery.

This car was found burned out a short time later in a wooded area along the Stradbally/Kilmacthomas Road.

No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing.
