Saudi Arabia foils apparent militant attacks

Saudi Arabia says it has foiled a plot by militants to carry out suicide air attacks on oil installations and military bases.

Speaking on national television, the interior ministry said foreign nationals were among 172 terror suspects held in a series of raids.

A large amount of weapons and over $30m in cash were also seized.

A military spokesperson said their targets included 'military bases in and outside' Saudi Arabia.

He said he did not know which military bases outside Saudi Arabia were among the targets, but added that there were no foreign military bases within the country itself.
