A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with an explosive device that was found underneath a car in Co Clare yesterday.
He is being held in Tallaght Garda Station in Dublin.
Army bomb disposal experts were called to a house in Doonbeg yesterday afternoon after a man, who had recently moved to the area from Dublin, received a telephone warning that there was a bomb underneath his car.
The army bomb disposal team arrived at the scene at 1pm and sealed off the area. The device was defused after 90 minutes.
They said it was a viable device containing 150g of explosives.
