Police in Derry came under attack last night as they attended the scene of a road accident in which a seven-year-old girl was injured.
Missiles and stones were fired at officers, forcing them to withdraw from the Moss Road area of the city.
They had been investigating an accident in which the young girl was struck by a car.
Both she and the driver of the vehicle were taken to hospital but their injuries are said to be not life-threatening.
