The security company at the centre of a €1.3 million robbery in Co Carlow on Monday has announced an enhancement of its staff security system.
In a statement, Securicor Managing Director Bernard Smith said, from today, the crew on a security van will be able to access cash only when the vehicle's locker is opened remotely.
Mr Smith said the company is confident that these initiatives will serve to deter similar attacks in the future.
The Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, has welcomed the move.
