Woman convicted over fatal car crash

A 30-year-old woman from Co Monaghan has been convicted of dangerous driving causing the death of two people.

Frances Flanagan from Castleblaney had denied the charge, which resulted in the death of Seamus Walsh and Teresa Murray on 18 September, 2004.

At Monaghan Circuit Criminal Court tonight the jury of eight men and four women convicted her of dangerous driving and of a charge of drunken driving.

The case has been adjourned to next January for sentencing.
