The Irish winner of last weekend's Euromillions jackpot has said the events of the last few days came as a big shock to herself and her family.

In a statement issued through a solicitor, Limerick woman Dolores McNamara also said she needs space and time for the implications of the win to sink in.

She said she wanted to express her deep appreciation of all the good wishes she received over the past few days.

The winner of €113 million has not yet picked up her cheque from the National Lottery Headquarters in Dublin.
